Tony
Anderson
Feb 1, 1955 — Dec 30, 2025
Wildwood
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tony Renouald Anderson, aged 70, who passed away at 10:04 p.m. on December 30, 2025, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on February 1, 1955, to James Anderson and Margaret Parhm, Tony dedicated the roles of his life to family, friends, and work.
Tony valued hard work, integrity, and the value of a man's word. His work ethic was gained from his father and grandmother, both who were in the funeral business. After Tony's education from Wildwood High School, he attended Lake-Sumter Community College and then went on to pursue his education at Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA. After his tenure at Gupton-Jones, he quickly developed the strong work ethic that would define his professional life. He followed in his dad's footsteps to become a Licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer, and worked alongside his Dad and Grandmother. In addition to the funeral business, Tony also had his own business as a Professional Mason. He thrived in both careers and taught both trades to his children. He was highly regarded by colleagues for his integrity, mentorship, and significant contributions to both businesses.
Generous with his time and spirit, he cultivated lifelong friendships. He was the friend you could always count on, quick with a helping hand, a listening ear, and a shared laugh at the annual family reunion or cookout. He loved his westerns and old reruns. He was most comfortable sleeping on the couch with them playing in the background. There was nothing a hotdog and honeybun couldn't fix when it came to a quick bite to eat! He took his time and put his love into cooking though when it came to ribs, turtle, coon, and goat! He had a passion for his goat farm, which some of his good friends and family were always willing to lend a helping hand to sustain. He was so appreciative of that. Let's not forget Stubborn! You weren't going to get Tony to do anything he didn't want to do!
Tony's commitment to friends was a deep, intentional bond based on trust, loyalty, and mutual support. He was a reliable confidant, or one could say he was "the life of the party" who valued deep connections, fellowship, and shared experiences. He showed up for his friends in tough times. In the words of his daughter, Megan, "he was hardworking, a faithful friend, and would give you the shirt off his back even if it was the only thing he had."
Throughout Tony's life, he embraced each role with grace and enthusiasm, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. While his professional accomplishments were many, his lasting legacy is the love he instilled in his family and the cherished memories he created with his friends."
Tony's love for life extended beyond his family and career. He found immense joy in cooking, grilling, hunting, fishing, playing dominos, poker with his brother in law Mac, and cards with family and friends. Some of his most enjoyable moments were babysitting his youngest grandchild, Gabe.
After his cancer diagnosis in 2017, Tony took every opportunity to live his even better "best" life with his family and friends. His passion for cherishing every moment had a profound impact on everyone around him. Tony's legacy will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will live on in the memories of laughter shared, lessons imparted, and love given freely.
Tony loved his Family. Although he had other loves in his life, his late wife, Debra L. Davis Anderson always had his heart. Together, they built a family life with three children: Tymon, Megan, and Caleb. He was a proud father.
Tony is survived by his Children: Tymon R Anderson, Megan L Anderson Whitmore, and Caleb R Anderson, Grandchildren: Keagan and Gabe Anderson (Tymon), Austin Whitmore (Megan), Jade Anderson (Caleb). His Mother: Margaret Parhm Larris, Sister: Vivian Wells Jones, Brother: James Jackson, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. His Friend and Companion Helena Dagner, who lovingly cared for him until his last breath.
He was preceded in death by his Grandmother: Armanella Hence, Father: James P. Anderson, Maternal Gradparents: Mearl Parhm and Ruth Parhm Thomas, Sister: Tonette Britt.
Tony leaves behind a legacy of integrity, love, and dedication. He demonstrated through his daily actions that a life dedicated to service—to work, to family, and to friends—is a life truly well-lived. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Tony's life will be held on January 10, 2026 @ 1:00pm. Location: Anderson & Hence Funeral Home, 121 CR-44A, Wildwood, FL. 34785. Family and friends will gather to honor his memory, share stories of his remarkable spirit and adventures, and toast his very beautiful spirit.
