Johnnie Mae Figgs, born on April 24, 1963, in Umatilla, Florida, was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend. She passed away on August 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion. Educated in the Sumter County Public School System, Johnnie Mae graduated from Wildwood High School. Her nurturing spirit led her to a fulfilling career in nursing, where she dedicated her life to caring for others as a Senior Companion.
Johnnie Mae is survived by her loving mother, Laretta "Ruth" Figgs, and her cherished son, Dorian "Trey" Figgs. Her brothers, Leroy Figgs and Nathaniel Mitchell, and her sister, Janice Edwards, will forever hold her memory dear. Her grandchildren, Kali Hart and Ahzayla Hart, were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
She is also survived by her uncles, Leonard Figgs, David Mitchell, Willie L. Mitchell, Robert Earl Davis, Terrell Davis, and Roderick Davis, and her special aunt, Linda Mitchell. Her beloved fiancé, Maurice Lewis, shared many cherished years of love and companionship with her.
Johnnie Mae was predeceased by her father, Robert Earl Figgs, and her youngest son, Antwain Hart. Her beautiful smile, loving spirit, and joyful laughter touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for her love of traveling and her devotion to family. Her legacy will continue to live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
